On the Road to COP Climate | COP 30

About

As an observer organization to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) since 2021, Université Côte d’Azur is committed to supporting Member States in their decision-making process by providing scientific insight.

Previously a partner of the Science for Climate Action Pavilion, Université Côte d’Azur is now one of its co-organizers, alongside the MERI Foundation, the IPCC, and the WMO. This recognition of the University’s commitment will strengthen its role, voice, and impact in contributing to the fight against climate change and its consequences.

In this context, and for the third consecutive year, Université Côte d’Azur is launching, from October 10 to December 10, the 2025 edition of the initiative “En route pour la COP Climat”, taking place both at COP30 in Belém, from the COP to the Côte d’Azur campuses, and across those campuses themselves.

In Belém, a university delegation will take part in high-level conferences, follow and analyze the negotiations for its community, and strengthen the University’s presence among its partners. On the Côte d’Azur, conferences, workshops, film debates, exhibitions, and other events will allow everyone to learn about and engage with these critical issues.

The collection of
academic advocacy pieces

Convinced that the role of higher education and research institutions must be strengthened in their ability to provide solutions through social and technological innovations and public policies, Université Côte d’Azur has decided to go beyond a simple institutional position. To do so, the University committed itself, together with its community, to publishing a Collection of Academic Advocacy Pieces to support an official position grounded in research. More than 130 authors contributed to the writing of over 40 advocacy pieces.
