Organized on June 16th 2023 by Nicolas PIGEON of LADIE and supported by the Academy 3, the "European Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism" workshop will address the issues associated with this new European Union legal instrument. This seminar is part of the "Environmental challenges linked to energy and resources" theme.

The workshop on the Carbon Tax Border Adjustment Mechanism, organized by Nicolas Pigeon, will bring together legal experts (privatists and publicists) and economists to analyze this new European Union legal instrument, whose declared aim is to implement the Paris Agreement on the European continent. The scientific ambition of this initiative is twofold: first, to clarify the operation of this particularly complex mechanism, particularly from the point of view of the economic operators who will be directly concerned. Then, this analysis will be completed by putting the mechanism into perspective in the European and international legal orders. The aim will then be to propose an assessment of its interactions with other elements of EU environmental policy.
