Our Commitments
Université Côte d’Azur intends to mobilize its entire scientific community to make a firm commitment to open science, in accordance with the 2nd National Plan for Open Science (2021–2024), the recommendations of the Coordination of French Research-Intensive Universities, taking into account the CNRS Roadmap for Open Science (2019) and the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science (2021).
In this context, Université Côte d’Azur officially adopted an Open Science Charter in June 2022, which defines the main strategic priorities and key actions designed to ensure the concrete implementation of this policy:
  • Encourage the deposit of scientific publications in open repositories, notably the HAL platform, to promote free and sustainable access to scientific work.
  • Develop open-access publishing tools, particularly the Epi-Revel platform, designed to support research teams in publishing scientific journals, conference proceedings, and e-books using the diamond model.
  • Promote the openness of research data and methods by encouraging researchers to share their data in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and by supporting project leaders through the DATAZUR data workshop.
  • Develop outreach and training initiatives on open science for doctoral students, researchers, and faculty members to disseminate best practices in the publication, management, and sharing of scientific data.
  • Foster the development of relationships between science and society by facilitating access to knowledge for all citizens and by encouraging initiatives for the dissemination and public outreach of scientific knowledge.
