Open Science

As part of their doctoral coursework, doctoral students must learn about the importance of open science and how to disseminate their research in society at large and build bridges with the public. In this respect, the entire scientific community of Université Côte d'Azur is committed to improving the unhindered dissemination of research articles and data. The current digital transformation is the opportunity to widen the access to research publications and - as far as possible - to research data.

Entrepreneurship

Université Côte d'Azur is committed to developing the cross-disciplinary skills of its students and has created the ICE Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship for that purpose. The entrepreneurship center offers doctoral students a range of programs, events, training and support.

ICE - Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship of Université Côte d'Azur is available to help students prepare their project and develop their cross-disciplinary skills alongside their studies! With its different programs, events, training opportunities and support schemes, ICE provides students with unique experiences that prepare them for their future job, either with an employer or in their own company.

Scientific culture

Scientific, technical and industrial culture (C.S.T.I.) is "part of culture in the broadest sense, and it should help citizens to understand the world in which they live and prepare them to live in the world tomorrow. By informing and encouraging the public to address issues relating to science, by encouraging debate within the scientific community, by sharing knowledge, by educating people to become active citizens, science is at the heart of society.

Doctoral students are also encouraged to take advantage of opportunities that arise to present their work to the general public or to middle and high school students. These opportunities include the following events: Fête de la Science, Semaine du Cerveau, la Nuit des Coupoles Ouvertes, My thesis in 180 seconds. Participation in these events is counted as coursework.
