Course Details

_{The MSc program is a full-time 2-year master's of 120 ECTS, 60 ECTS per year. Each year consists of 6 modules, and one 6-week internship.This is a blended learning program. In the 1st year, students are required to travel to on-site classes 3 times throughout the year and 2 times in the 2nd year (see module details below). Therefore, the majority of the students' time is distance self-study through a dedicated online learning platform, giving students the flexibility to work at their own pace and accommodate their studies alongside their jobs.}

_{When not in on-site classes, students should expect to commit around 15-20 hours a week to this master's. These hours are predominantly asynchronous, with self-paced study guided by the online learning platform. However, some weeks will require students to attend virtual synchronous online video sessions with teachers and mentors.}

_{In order to evaluate student progress and the criteria that will decide graduation, all modules of the master’s require a minimum of two grades mapped to the learning outcomes of each module. Where possible, authentic assessment is being implemented, i.e., assessments that reflect real-world activities which molecular pathology students might face, such as case studies and molecular tumor boards, alongside this, traditional exams (i.e., multiple choice questions, short essays) can be used for more factual based content.}

<sub>The internships carry the greatest weight in terms of both ECTS and student workload: each internship must be followed up with an internship report, and the 2nd year internship also requires an oral viva.

Grading is based on the system 0–20. In order to graduate, students must achieve a minimum grade of 10/20 in Year 1 and in Year 2. Students must therefore pass their first year before moving on to the second year.</sub>
