Fistularia commersonii, (Rüppell 1838)
The Bluespotted cornetfish also known as the flute fish (Fistularia commersonii) gets its name from its slender and elongated body. It has a greenish color on the back and a silvery belly. The Flute fish is considered one of the most invasive species in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a Lessepsian species that has only recently been present in this region. The flute fish was first observed in Israel in the year 2000.
