George Drettakis leads the GRAPHDECO Inria project-team. His research focuses on image synthesis, with an emphasis on "rendering" (the last step in creating a synthesis after geometric modeling and animation). He first focused on lighting and shadow calculation, then worked on 3D audio, perceptual algorithms, virtual reality, perception for graphics and 3D interaction. In recent years, he has worked on image-based novel-view synthesis and relighting, notably using deep learning methodology. He has received two ERC Advanced Grants (2018 and 2024) and the Eurographics Technical Contribution (2007) and Distinguished Career (2024) Awards. http://www-sop.inria.fr/members/George.Drettakis/
