On the Road to COP Climate | COP31
About
As an observer organization to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) since 2021, Université Côte d’Azur is committed to contributing to the decision-making process by bringing its scientific expertise to the table and fostering dialogue between science and public policy.
In this context, for the fourth consecutive year, Université Côte d’Azur is launching the 2026 edition of the “En route pour la COP Climat” initiative, taking place from late September to December both across the Côte d’Azur campuses and in Antalya, where COP31 will be held. The initiative thus creates a link between university campuses and the arenas of international climate governance, helping to bring the COP closer to the university community.
Université Côte d’Azur is continuing its commitment alongside the MERI Foundation, the IPCC and the WMO in organizing the Science for Climate Action Pavilion. At COP31, hosted by Türkiye and presided over by Australia, the Pavilion will provide a dedicated space to address, together with our partners, key issues such as science diplomacy, tackling climate disinformation, and protecting coastal and marine ecosystems.
In Antalya, the University delegation will take part in high-level conferences, follow and interpret the negotiations for students and the university community, and help strengthen the role of universities in multilateral decision-making forums.
On the Côte d’Azur, conferences, workshops, training sessions, exhibitions and other events will give everyone an opportunity to better understand these issues and get involved.
