Artificial Intelligence Transversal Skills

At Université Côte d’Azur, the Bachelor’s degree program is structured around disciplinary and cross-disciplinary skills, designed to foster academic success and employability.

The field of AI is providing new tools that are having a growing impact not only on professional practices but also on personal practices—such as learning—and on society as a whole. To meet the need for widespread training in AI and address its challenges, the cross-disciplinary skills module “Major Societal Challenges: Artificial Intelligence (AI)” has been mandatory in the first year (L1) since 2024, in the second year (L2) since 2025, and in the third year (L3) starting in the 2026 academic year.

The educational resources are available below

They will help you acquire the knowledge you need to understand, on your own, what existing AI systems can and cannot do. By exploring their underlying principles, you’ll understand the sources of their societal and environmental impacts—impacts that are often still not widely recognized by the general public but are important to understand. This will help you build on current knowledge to better decide whether, when, and how to use these tools in your studies, professional practice, or personal life.
