This program aims to position the Université Côte d’Azur internationally in research on the modeling of the dynamics of social and economic networks. It seeks to strengthen the dialog between modelers and researchers in the social sciences.
Program objectives:
- Bring together researchers from different disciplines working on socio-economic dynamics to cooperate on modeling problems. Such dynamics can be observed over long timescales and may include those of prehistoric populations, the commercial networks of the modern era (15th–18th centuries), and contemporary social networks.
- Make the Université Côte d’Azur a recognized center in the analysis and understanding of complex systems, including social, skill, and economic networks, so as to better observe social dynamics, especially with respect to their environmental adaptations.
- Integrate aspects of expertise and advice into the research for decision-makers.
- Develop and consolidate an international network on the subject.
