Mapping of our courses
With Université Côte d'Azur, you are sure to find the course to suit you! In the context of harmonizing the European higher education courses, the French university system is mainly structured around three degree levels: the undergraduate degree (licence in French), the master’s degree and the PhD or Doctoral Degree (LMD). This structure helps increase the mobility of European students, by moving between subjects and vocational and general educational programs.
The first (undergraduate) level: Licence, DUT and DN
As an institution that prides itself in offering many degree subjects, Université Côte d'Azur has structured the undergraduate degree courses in the same broad subject fields (or schools) within portals thus making it possible to share teaching units within the same school and across other schools. This approach enables students to progressively specialize by building a personalized course. Starting with the undergraduate degree, students are informed about the university's research topics, notably through tutored projects and excellence programs, but also through entrepreneurship opportunities as part of the Invent@ UCA program.
Those students who wish to take shorter courses may enroll in a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie (DUT) (or University Technology Degree) at the University Institute of Technology (IUT).
With two Art institutes, the Villa Arson and the École Régionale d'Acteurs de Cannes et Marseille (ERACM), the range of courses on offer in the Arts is unique in the region both for undergraduate and graduate courses, with national degrees recognized by the Ministry of Culture.
Université Côte d'Azur also offers a wide choice of selective, demanding double degrees, to achieve qualifications in two fields, as well as a wide variety of vocational degrees
Post graduate courses: Master's, Engineering
Backed by cutting-edge research, the range of educational courses at the Master’s level within the Université Côte d'Azur provides students with teaching excellence so that graduates can successfully enter the work force and society. Students specialize as part of the courses run by the University Research Schools (EUR) which organize master's and PhD courses by major subject areas. In addition, many master's programs also offer open or subsidiary courses enabling students to personalize their curriculum.
Université Côte d'Azur includes an Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE) (Business Administration Institute) offering graduate training in management sciences and an École Polytechnique Universitaire (Polytech) (Multi-technical school) within its walls: students can therefore also choose to study while having close interactions with the business world to obtain an engineering/business management degree.
Similarly, they can join the Institut National Supérieur du Professorat et de l'Éducation (INSPE) (Higher National Teaching and Education Institute) to train as a teacher.
The third level: PhD/Doctoral studies
Université Côte d'Azur is the institution on Côte d'Azur accredited to award PhD degrees. With a group of internationally renowned research laboratories, all subject matters are available, thus enabling students to prepare their thesis under the best conditions.Health Studies
Université Côte d'Azur also offers the opportunity to study in the medical and paramedical fields: medicine, dentistry, midwifery and massage-physiotherapy at the Institut de Formation en Masso-Kinésithérapie Niçois(IFMK) (Nice Massage and Physiotherapy Training).
