Jean-Christophe Martin

Prof. Jean-Christophe Martin is a professor of international and European law. He mainly works on legal questions relating to peace and security, law of the sea and sustainable development. He is the director of the Institute for Peace and Development (IdPD) of Université Côte d’Azur since 2015, and he holds a UNESCO Chair (“Peace and development through law” – P2D) since 2022. He has also played a key role in the internationalization of Université Côte d’Azur from 2012 to 2019, in quality of Vice-president for international affairs. Relying on both this experience and its expertise in international law/relations, he is interested in scientific diplomacy issues, including the contribution of universities to global peace and development.
