What is SDG 8? Better understanding

MDG 8 is the driving force behind the global economy. It aims to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment and decent work for all.

In other words, it's about making the global economy work for everyone, by creating quality jobs, supporting business, and reducing inequality. The aim is to build a world where everyone can make a living from their work and contribute to the development of their community.

Institutional commitment to SDG 8

As an institution of higher education, Université Côte d'Azur plays a key role in achieving this goal, contributing in particular to :
  • Economic and social research: by studying labor market dynamics, analyzing employment policies and developing more inclusive economic models.
  • Training future economic players: By offering specialized training in economics, management, social sciences and labor law, to train tomorrow's professionals.

Dedicated structures

EUR LEX : EUR Lex is home to some 3,000 students and over 80 teaching and research staff. It coordinates a range of over 40 courses, including 15 sandwich courses, in the major disciplines of law and political science, with a particular focus on Masters programs. EUR Lex plays a central role in the organization of teaching, facilitates the dissemination of research and supports the professional integration of students. It also supervises state diplomas, ensuring that they meet market needs. With 6 research laboratories, it is a key player in law and political science research at the Université Côte d'Azur.


Equality Mission: Université Côte d'Azur's Equality Mission is dedicated to promoting gender equality and diversity within the university community. It implements actions and initiatives aimed at raising awareness and combating discrimination. The mission works to create an inclusive and respectful environment for all members of the university.

A third of all jobs are found through the network, with over 70% of students landing their first job through this channel.
