Application for a gap year

A "césure" is a break in your higher education studies for a set period of time. The aim is to free up time for personal or professional enrichment.

The gap year: an enriching break

The gap year lasts a maximum of one academic year (one or two semesters). It's a temporary suspension of your enrolment in one of the Université Côte d'Azur courses. However, you retain your student status for the duration of the break, remaining enrolled in the course in question and able to take it again as soon as you return.

Course directors are responsible for approving your application. For your application to be accepted, your projects and ambitions must be closely linked to the development of your professional or human skills. The Césure can be designed to :

  • an internship
  • an entrepreneurial project
  • a commitment to an association or volunteer work
  • civic service
  • joining a company as an employee
  • any other project designed to strengthen or develop your qualities
